(2007) Office has not been installed for the current user

As office 2007 beta 2 is out, I thought to experience the same. Hence downloaded and installed it on my system. It worked well for about 3 days but now whoever I try to launch any application, for example Excel, it gives me the following error:

“Excel is not installed for the current user. Please run setup”

Alrite, I ran the setup again but still getting the same problem. It happens will all office application, whether it is Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook or anything. Any solution for this ? Is there any registry modification fix required ?

I thought it is just me facing this problem but seems like am not alone. I’m struggling with this error seince a week now, tried many thing but not able to fix yet. Unlike, the problem is just with Microsoft OneNote and Video. Rest all other office programs are working.

Any help ?

Hello Micheaux,

There is a separate Technical Refresh update launch by Microsoft for Visio and any other 2007 products. Did you tried these updates? If not, do it now. These are kind of Patches for Beta 2 and not the new installation.

Also you guys should know that office 2007 beta 2 requires Windows Vista build 5384 or higher systems. If you are below that, then this beta will give you such problems.

Can you please tell me what all is listed in your Add and Remove programs related to 2007? Also as far as I know OneNote and Office Professional updates are just a part this Technical refresh. All of the other Office families of 2007 products have individual refresh updates.
