| Download corrupt? I have downloaded Office beta 2 more than once and tried to install on a Vista OS from CD and file. I keep getting an error during installation. Error 1335. The cabinet file "ProWW.CAB" required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. -- procompserv |

| Re: Download corrupt?
Hi Warren, Be sure you're using a Vista build of 5384 or higher. You may also need to extract the CD image from the download using the following procedure. If you're downloading more than once, clear your browser cache first before downloading again. You need to use Setup.exe from the extraction, not double click one of the several .MSI files to do the install. =========== 1. Use Start=>Programs=>Accessories=>Disk Cleanup clear your Internet files and temp files. 2. Locate your 2007 Office Professional Beta 2 download file and note the folder/path location. 3. Create a new folder on your PC and note that folder/path location. 4. Use Start=>Run , and on a single line type in the following (using the path & file names from Step 2 & 3) and leaving out the brackets "drive:\Step2PathOfDownload\downloadfilename.e xe" /extract:"Step3path" example: (assuming you saved to a 'downloads' folder and created a new folder named Off2007ProB2CD1) the Start=>Run line would look like this "c:\downloads\OPPLUS-EN.EXE" /extract:"C:\Off2007ProB2CD1" If the extraction is successful (you'll get a dialog box telling you it was after a few minutes) then a. Backup your files and shutdown all other running apps and utilities including antivirus. b. Run setup from your new 2007 Office system folder you created in the previous steps Else, if the extraction doesn't succeed then the download may be damaged/corrupted. Use Start=>Run and type %temp% and locate the Setup-xxxxx.log (file) just created and see if it has any clues on where the extraction failed. Post back here with your results please. ========= ====== <<"Warren Pierro" <WarrenPierro@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4103B6CF-B52F-43A7-AB63-4B973D32C8EC@microsoft.com... | Re: Download corrupt?
Hi Warren, No, not really :) Some folks have Winzip or another 'unzipper' on the PC and sometimes using that will create an incorrect file structure to install from when it unpacks. (Inside the Office download is a CD image of Office 2007 Professional Beta 2). In other cases the temporary files or internet cache folders get clogged/full and get in the way after an incomplete installation so a bit of file cleanup is needed using just the Windows provided basic tools. ======= <<"Warren Pierro" <WarrenPierro@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4C4745AF-7416-402A-8203-22F685D8FF07@microsoft.com...
