Can't install office 2007 professional on windows 7

I purchased a new computer with the Windows 7 64bit OS. I can't get Office
2007 professional to install. If I try to run the install in the normal
Win7, I immediately get "The application was unable to start correctly
(0xc000022). Click ok to close the program.

If I try to run it in safemode

it asks for, and accepts the product key
asks to accept the terms which I do
then gives the option to start or customize the install

I've tried both options with the same result. The DVD starts to spin up and
it looks like it's going to take off. Then I get a message that says
"Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2007 encountered an error during setup." The only
option is OK.

Event Viewer says the error was "failed to connect to server 0x8007043c".

The PC did come with a trial version of H&S. I have uninstalled that.

I've searched but can't seem to find a solution for this. Any assistance
would be appreciated.

Re: Can't install office 2007 professional on windows 7

Did you uninstall the Trial completely and how? Did you also uninstall the
Activation Assistant also ?

Make sure that the Trial and the Activation Assistant is both fully uninstalled and
everything connected with Office including what you just tried to install is removed
before starting the Office 2007 installation again

Use the following instructions to remove Office 2007 Trial if you are not able to
remove it completely with Add\Remove

Microsoft Office Professional Plus in an Enterprise volume which you would
have procured through your employer's home use program and is it good for
one installation only. Apply to your employer's IT department for support
as it is their resposibility to support Home Use Program SKUs.

Not a problem Peter... one reason folks are clamoring for fewer SKUs and
clarity on licensing...

Re: Can't install office 2007 professional on windows 7

The question was about Office 2007 professional and it is not an "Enterprise
volume" by default
<http://trial.trymicrosoftoffice.com/trialukireland/product.aspx?sku=3082915&culture=en-GB>.
Any Tom, Dick and Harry can download and M$ is not a fool to allow people to
download a product that requires VLK. Please provide your reference where
you got this crap from!

Randy

Bright eyes. Read the poster original post. Office Professional Pro Plus (The word
Plus) means it is a VL version.

Between Pro and Pro Plus there is quite a bit of difference. There is also an
Enterprise version which is also VL as Pro Plus is

Re: Can't install office 2007 professional on windows 7

Sheesh - ever hear of Torrents? They don't care about what Microsoft will
and won't allow... that is the definition of piracy!!!

See this for the different SKUs and their licensing:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/su...677751033.aspx

For Professional Plus:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/su...674101033.aspx See that
little side box "Ready to Buy Office 2007 Professional Plus"? Can you read
what it says about licensing?

I knew you could.
