Office 2007 "setup cannot find setup.exe"

Hello, am not here to ask anything but to post some tricks that will help people with the above mentioned error message. I faced this a week ago on my newly installed Windows 7 64 bit system when I was trying to install Office 2007 from the CD. Whenever I was trying to run the setup it use to give me error stating “setup cannot find setup.exe" though I can see the setup.exe in the root of my Office installation CD.

After a long research and troubleshooting finally I found the way that fixed it in minutes. I launched the setup manually, click on browser, pointed it to Windows Explorer > DVD Drive. I selected the setup.exe in the root of the CD. Right clicked the same and selected Windows XP compatibility mode. That’s it. My problem and this error solved.

All this kind of problem occurs if the office setup files in machine is corrupt. Remove all the instances of office keys from the registry to fix this issue. Follow the steps mentioned in the article below:
