set up cannot find excel.en-us\excelLR.cab

I am trying to download office home and student 2007 but keep getting the
error message- set up cannot find excel.en-us\excelLR.cab. How do I fix
this?

Did you remove and uninstall the Trial version and the Activation Wizard before you
attempted to install Home and Student version of Office

Did you uninstall the Trial? What version did you purchase from Staples?
I've seen this happen when certain resident virus or firewalls protection
are enabled. Try turning them off temporarily.

Will not load on a new HP. Time ran out on the Trail that came with the computer. So I bought Office program from Staples. Te error message says
Set up can not find Excel.en-us\excelLR.cab

I've just experienced the same issue. No trial version on my machine. I'm
trying to re-load Office 2007 Home & Student after having to restore my
computer recovering from another issue. Where can I find the missing file?
It doesn't appear to be available on the MS Office homepage--why? What
specific virus or firewall protections may be interfering? Any help would be
appreciated!

Make sure if you have microsoft works you have set that up.

I have the same problem installing Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student on a HP. It cannot find file Excel.en-us/ExcelLR.cab

file ExcelLR.cab actually exists in folder Excel.en-us. It does not have the extension .cab, however. It is a cabinet file, so it seems to be the right file. I copied the CD to a folder on the hard disk, renamed the file to ExcelLR.cab but it still will not find it. Any suggestions?
