When I run Word 2007 it starts a Configuration Progress

For me it sounds very complicated but will try to explain as simple as I can. I am using Office 2003 and Office 2007 together on the same computer. Whenever I run them separately, for example Word 2003, it works without any problem and similarly when I run office 2007 only, it works without any problem.

The problem starts when I try switching from Word 2007 to Word 2003, Word 2003 opens up with a message window saying something like “Please wait while Windows Configures Microsoft Office”. It tooks about 5 minutes for the same and then Word works properly. The same thing happens when I switch back to Word 2007. This happens only once just after switching between versions but is very frustrating.

Is there any way to stop this ?

You basically need to edit the following registry key if you want to use multiple Office versions on the same system:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options

First of all I don’t understand what is the reason to use to both Office 2003 and 2007 on the same system. I have been using Office suites since long long years and I can say that everything we got in Office 2003 is now available in Office 2007 with lots new features. Then why to create problems using both again.

Also if am not wrong, we can easily open any file with .doc in Office 2007, if the problem is for using .docx files, there is a patch by Microsoft that can applied and viewed in Office 2003 as well.
