Office 2003 Error 2908

I was running Windows XP with Office 2003 successfully since years. But last week due to freezing and few other problems I needed to repair my system with the installation CD. Since then my Office programs stopped working. Hence I removed it from Control panel and tried re-installing again, installation wizard moves upto 2 percent and quits with the following error message:

Error 2908. An internal error has occurred. ({53EB5CFB-3DAF-4890-ABCD-4895D28EAAAF} ) Contact your Information Technology department of assistance.

Somebody please help me out fixing this problem. Thank you.

Well personally I don’t have any Idea about error code 2902 but while searching Microsoft for the same, this is what I got in KB Article:

“Error 2902. An internal error has occurred” http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=895975

The problem would be most probably related to Microsoft .NET Framework. I have been with similar problem earlier and in my case I just removed, Net, restarted the system and installed Office. It went smoothly. You should try doing the same.

I read your post and really you have done a great job this is the best way to fix error 2908 but i have something to recommend you to same fixing of these type of errors someone recommend me to visit error2908.org this site when i visit this it attract me and i get all that fixing tools which i want to find from this site its really good for my PC i hope you also check this and get good benefit.
