Several Office programs installed; will not uninstall

Hello -

I have a list of several office programs installed on my Windows Vista
laptop. Here is the list:

-MS Office Home and Student 2007
-MS Office Small Business 2007 (I have the upgrade CD)
-MS Office Professional Edition 2003
-MS Office Standard 2007

With Home & Student 2007, I get this message when attempting to install:
"Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your
system administrator". Alright then, its saying this but what I want to do is
take it off!

As for Small Business 2007, I do NOT have any programs that are part of this
version of office installed at all. I am not even sure how it got installed
in the first place. When I try to uninstall it from Add & Remove, this is the
error I get: "This product installation has been corrupted. Run setup again
from the CD, DVD, or other original installation source. When I put in the
upgrade CD of Small Business, I get the same message and I also am not able
to uninstall from the CD. So this is what I have going on...not able to
uninstall any of this and really start from scratch, office wise. Any help
would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Now, if possible, I would also like to start from scratch but I do not mean
wiping out my computer; I am referring to attempt to uninstall every bit of
Office and then installing the preferred version that I would like to have.

Jordan Montgomery

Re: Several Office programs installed; will not uninstall

I have followed the steps that were in the link you had posted on here.
However, starting at Step 2 of "Remove any remaining 2007 Microsoft Office
installation folders", I cannot delete the "Office12" folder because it needs
"administrative privilages" but everything is set as an administrator. How
should I go about deleting the "Office12" folder?

Re: Several Office programs installed; will not uninstall

Vista Home Premium is what my OS is. Be advised, I believe a version of Home
& Student has been included on my laptop (Toshiba) this is also giving me
problems.

Re: Several Office programs installed; will not uninstall

You have a mish mash of office products installed, as to why whoever did
this, who knows. It maybe that one of the versions is also a trial.
I'm not totally up to speed with Vista, having Administrative privileges,
may not be the same as logging on as an Administrator, or running as
administrator.
You might get advice on a Vista group as how to run as an Administrator - I
believe its a permissions issue
