Error 2203

My MS Office Excel and Power suddenly stopped working and I decided to
uninstall and reinstall MS Office Enterprise 2007 (on the same PC).

I am currently using Vista and Office Enterprise 2007 (Home Use Program).

When I install the program, an error message 2203 keeps popping up and I
failed to install it. The error also included a message
"(C:\Windows\Installer\567ab.ipi - 2147287035) Contact Microsoft Product
Support Services (PSS) for assistance.

I have already tried to turn off UAC but the same message keeps coming up.

Can someone please advice me on what to do?

I've had this same problem with office 2007 ultimate and vista sp1 home
premium.
After looking through other posts on this topic I looked at the permisions
of my temporary folders. It seems that the user I was logged it, which is an
admin, didn't have access to c:\windows\temp. I changed the permissions so
that I had fully control of this folder and disabled UAC.
I also cleared my temporary folders and uninstalled, using add\remove
programs, the previous version of office that I had installed (office 2000
sp3).
