It is my Windows XP pro desktop, recently reformatted it due to some problems. I installed OS and all other required softwares without any problem but now when am trying to install Office 2003, it gives me the following error message:

Error 2908. An internal error has occurred. {DF209BD7-5635-4611-B7CD-365732DE60DE}. Contact your information Technology department for assistance.

As I don’t have any IT department, I don’t know what to do. Please some one help me out soon.

Probably the error mentioned above occurs due to .Net Framework. Check your Add and Remove programs, see if .net Framework is installed. If it is there simply remove it. Once uninstalled .Net restart your system and now run the Office installation. You wont be getting those errors again.

You can also take help of .NET Framework Cleanup Tool for doing this. This will also remove files that remain on your system even after uninstalling .net. You can download the same from here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/arc...8/8904493.aspx

Yeah, you only need to remove Mcrosoft .NET Framework 2.0 from your system, install Office software. Once done, you can reinstalled .Net again. For more help check this KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929681.

For more info, you can check these as well:
