What is the meaning of DMA and PMA in tellabs modem

I have a leased line internet at my office. For this i have a cisco router and a tellabs leased line modem. What is the meaning of DMA and PMA in tellabs modem? I have searched everywhere on the internet and cannot find what i am looking for... There are some times internet problems and when the net is down, the DMA and/or PMA leds are in an 'ON' state. I think the internet issue can be solved if i know what is the meaning of these LEDs. I have been through so many forums but all i have got is failure... Can anyone help me? Please help...

I don't know what does it mean for tellabs modem but as far as i know its used in hard disks for fetching and accessing memory. DMA : Direct Memory Access. But i don't think this is the same for the leased line modems...

What would PMA stand for?? Private Memory Access? I have not been too much into leased line modes. I have worked with them few years back, and when these leds activated the net would be down. I never tried to know its meaning as it was just an indication that the net is not working and its time to call the internet service provider. Well, you should wait for someone with more expertise to reply...

Both DMA and PMA are Maintenance Alarams. And Alarm are always to warn you or bring something to your notice.

PMA Alarm (Red indication) will glow when line problem is there
DMA Alarm (Red Indication) will glow when modem h/w problem
