How to create Windows 8 laptop wireless hotspot without any software

I know it is possible as i have saw a laptop today sharing WiFi without any software. I use to do this using third party softwares like connectify but the system i am talking was not having this or any such software installed and was running on Windows 8. So i guess there is something built-in option that allows sharing internet over wifi in win 8. As i am having a Lenovo running W8, i would like to know how can we do the same because i have few tabs and smartphones which i need to use on slow 2G network. If i can create WiFi hotspot, it will be very helpful for me. So please help.

Well i dont think it is possible without Connectify or any such software. Though you have Windows 8 with WiFi adapter, i doubt there is any built-in feature to get it done. Not sure by the way, i haven't played with hacks so far
