AVG 2013 will not scan

I am running Windows XP SP3 with all the latest windows updates. I am also using Avg 2013 free edition on my system with the latest virus definitions. Actually, I have upgraded from AVg 2012 free to AVG 2013 edition after getting a prompt on the screen. I have installed it and restarted the pc successfully but when I am trying to scan my computer then AVG 2013 will not work at all? When I am trying to scan the whole system or a file then I get a message immediately that the scan was successfully completed and nothing else? Any ideas? Thanks

I talked to AVG about this issue and they told me that if I have Malwarebytes installed, then I have to uninstall it from my computer and remove Avg 2013 with the AVG removal tool and then reinstall it again. After doing all this things even my problem was not solved. So I simply installed Avg 2012 version and I am not accepting the new update for Avg 2013 now till the issue gets resolved.

I dont think Malwarebytes conflicts with AVG running in the background in anyways. If we have 2 background antivirus operating in the background then they create conflicts with each other and in Malwarebytes can be turned on by going into the option. You can also choose the option to run online malware scanners too. You can try to select and run one of these options that can give you some relief.

You can easily get AVG 2012 by searching it on google and install it in your computer. So, after downloading this version you will have to uninstall all the traces of Avg 2013 from your pc. And for that you can use the Avg remover tool for this if the usual uninstallation methods are not thorough enough. You can download the tool from this link - http://www.avg.com/ww-en/utilities
