Computer keeps on rebooting after installing avast!

Since installing avast 2012 free my system has entered a reboot loop. I am quite sure that it is because of the avast as my computer was working fine before that and I did not had a single issue. I did not had any problem in installing avast but after installing it, I was asked to reboot my system. I did that and now it keeps on rebooting every time and I am not able to log in to windows.
Never thought avast would be so worst.

Which version of windows you are using??? Have you tried using the last known configuration option?? If you haven't that you can give that a shot.
Using Last Known Good Configuration
If you are able to log in to windows with that than uninstall avast.

My system runs on windows 7, I have tried using the last known configuration option following the above article but no luck. My system still keeps on rebooting. Is there some other way by which I can log in to windows and uninstall avast.
I just need to get rid of it anyhow, please help!!!

Do you have windows installation disk??? In case if you have it, then I will suggest you to do a system restore. You can do a system restore to a point when you were not having avast installed. System restore will undo changes that you might have made in your system prior to the restore point you will chose.

Follow the solution mentioned in “To open the System Recovery Options menu using the Windows 7 installation disc or a USB flash drive, or a system repair disc” section, best of luck.

I want to know if you can boot in to safemode?? If yes then you have a better option rather than try systrecan try uninstalling avast from safemode. You just have to perform below task.
Download aswclear.exe by searching it from google and move it in usb drive.
Start Windows in Safe Mode, connect your usb drive
Run the uninstall utility that you have downloaded for uninstalling avast!
Once uninstalled restart your computer and you are done

Uninstalling avast by booting in to safemode was really the best option. Anyways I’ve found out the actual cause of the issue. Actually I was having avg installed and I had installed avast without uninstalling it. I wasn’t aware that two antivirus should not be installed on same system. I came to know it just now while chatting about this issue with my friends. Currently I have uninstalled avg and have installed Avast . Avast is working great now, I take my words back for calling it worst.
