Is there any similar tool like Angry IP

I think most of you here might be familiar with Angry IP, if not then I will like to inform you that it is a open-source and cross-platform network scanner for scanning IP addresses and ports. So here I wanted to know the best alternative for the same?? I know there are a number of them but I want you all suggest me the top ones so that I can make my choice from that. Thanks in advance.

Re: Is there any similar tool like Angry IP

In that case I will like to inform you that LanSpy - network security & port scanner is just compatible with Windows 2000/XP/2003 and not with windows vista and windows 7.I think Nmap ("Network Mapper") will be a better choice for you, it is available for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X as well. You can use Nmap for network exploration, it can be used for network inventory, managing service, upgrade schedules as well. Other than these things Nmap has below additions:

Advanced GUI
Zenmap - results viewer
Ncat - debugging tool
Ndiff - utility for comparing scan results
Nping - response analysis tool

I think Softperfect Network Scanner is the best, check out its key Features below:
  1. It is a free multi-threaded IP, NetBIOS and SNMP scanner
  2. It can be used by system administrators as well as general users
  3. It is capable of mounting shared folders as network drives and Detects hardware (MAC) address across routers.
  4. It detects internal and external IP addresses and also scans for listening TCP ports and SNMP services
  5. It allows you to retrieve information of currently logged-on users and from remote registry as well.
  6. It allows you to gather any information via WMI and Exports results in HTML, XML, CSV and TXT format.
