Hello guys, I am having an laptop running Windows 7 64bit. Yesterday i formatted my system due to some reason. I installed all my required applications successfully but when i tried to install the Norton internet security 2010, installation failed. Whenever i try to install the same, i get the UAC Pop up and my system freezes. I restarted the laptop, disabled UAC but still the same problem. Every time it gets hanged without completing the installation and I need to reboot laptop to get my desktop back. Can anyone help me in installing the Norton internet security 2010 antivirus?

I think that the problem is with the antivirus CD or the digital copy you downloaded. If you are having the CD of the Norton internet security then there is possibility that CD might be damaged. If the CD is damaged it will surely freeze your system and won’t work properly. I think that you should download the Norton internet security 2010 software from the internet and then try installing it again.

Hey, I had the same problem when I tried to install the Norton internet security 2010 in my computer. The problem was with the services which were running in the background. I don’t have that much knowledge in the services of the windows. So I just had a clean boot in my computer which stopped all the unwanted services in the background. Here are the steps to perform a clean boot in your computer.

    1. Click start and type msconfig in the search box.
    2. Click on the general tab
    3. Click Selective Startup.
    4. Now click on services tab. Click on hide all Microsoft services.
    5. Now click on disable all.
    6. Click ok and restart your computer.
