Cannot access the Netgear WNR2000 control panel for configuration

Recently I have connected the Netgear WNR2000 to another router using the port 1. That router is then connected to a DSL modem. The problem is I cannot get to the Netgear router’s control panel. Whenever I try, it directly jumps to the website. I cannot see the interface of the router. I tried different ip addresses but they didn’t make it happen. The router works perfectly but I have to get into the control panel because wifi network is not secure. Is there any way around?

There is a only possible way and that is connect netgear router and Pc directly. Do the factory reset of the device and then again try to access the interface by the use of default IP. This might work.

If you have more than one machine, the following steps do with the computer with which you manage a direct Internet connection without a router. For just the ip address of that computer is enabled, and you need the exact clone. I describe the times as it works with my Linksys router. On the Netgear, it will be similar. In the browser:
    • 192.168.1.1
    • User name: admin
    • Password: admin
    • Clone MAC Address: Clone My PC's MAC

The Smart Wizard configuration assistant only appears when the router retains the factory settings and is not required user name and password to access the router. After configuring the router, or have ignored the setup wizard, it will not appear and will have to connect the router to make any changes

Your wireless router apparently has a 4-port LAN-side-Switch, as I see it. The use of wireless router is unnecessary. Well, if you are trying from the WAN side access, you have a rule (SOHO) which is actually an IP. From the LAN side of the router IP that is either preset or changed by you. LAN side of the router is a DHCP client. I can only imagine if you are from the WAN side from trying to access, the problems arise with missing and no access to the IP router.
