Intel Wireless card is not working on Debian Linux

My system is running Debian Linux. In this system everything working fine but not wireless. I don’t think that it is the wireless card problem because I have used it in Ubuntu & OpenSuSE. The card is made up from Intel.

Currently your wireless card is not recognized (according to iwconfig). First verifies that the wireless card is switched on. Otherwise it is your wireless card that is currently unrecognized. Before going any further would require you to tell us:
    • What wireless card you are using
    • What version of Debian distribution you are using

Re: Intel Wireless card is not working on Debian Linux

I'm using kernel 2.6.24, and I read that there was a native driver for my card, I decided to try it. However, after installing it, lifted the plate, but could not connect. I made several attempts, I compiled, re-compiled, but ultimately not walk at all. From what I've read it can be done walking, but in my case, lack of knowledge yet

As default updates of the kernel (2.6.21-2-686 for me) to boot the system does not detect the wireless network card. The problem is solved with a simple

    Code:
    # Apt-get install ipw3945-modules-6.2.21-2-686
If this is the first time you install Debian will continue:
    Code:
    # Apt-get install ipw3945d
    # Apt-get install firmware-ipw3945

The required drivers are in the Debian package archive already exists, but they are not free software but are located in non-free. If necessary, go to / etc / apt / sources.list to access it. These are addresses for Debian server at all occurrences of main replaced by main contrib non-free . After that apt-get update will be called to reload the package lists.
