Remote Access to my Seagate BlackArmor 440 NAS

    Hello.

I have the Seagate BlackArmor 440 NAS and would like to access my shares over the internet similar to how I access them on my internal LAN.

On my internal LAN, it's just a UNC path such as \\192.168.0.105\Downloads or \\192.168.0.105\Public and can map these as drive letters in Windows.

I thought I could do Port Forwarding to a specific port or set up a virtual server such as \\xx.xxx.xx.xxx:445\Downloads or something to that affect, but haven't been able to get it to work with my Linksys or DLink routers.

Anyone know if this can be done with my external ip natted to the internal ip and forwarded to a specific port?

    Thanks.

    Stan.

You can remotely access and share content with others via Seagate Global Access. You can also opt to provide remote access through Dynamic DNS as well. For better remote access performance, you can also enable FTP and opt to provide remote access through Dynamic DNS.
