Unable to use Digital Video Recorder software with Avast

I have currently installed new free version Avast 6.0.137 in my PC having windows XP operating system with service pack 2 but while running Digital Video Recorder software, creating problem of not executing. It was working fine with older one but with the new one giving Run-Time error. And if turn off Avast then too it works fine.

Add exclusion for Digital Video Recorder software in the Avast setting in system shield . For that go to………..Avast User Interface then Real time Shield then File System Shield then expert setting and then exclusion and then browse the Digital Video Recorder software and then select the file you want to exclude and then click OK.

You might also try for adding exclusion for Digital Video Recorder software in Avast. Go to User Interface and then behavior shield then Real time Shield then File System Shield then expert setting and then exclusion and then browse the Digital Video Recorder software and then select the file you want to exclude and then click OK. This will add exclusion and you are ready to go.

Go to web shield expert setting and check this option ‘Scan well known browser processes only’. This option is for if your Digital Video Recorder is communicating to the web.

Try to disable your shield from Avast one by one and check your DVR every time you switch of one shield. If nothing change by that shield, without fail, turn it on and check for another one. This will confirm you, which shield is giving problem to you.

As you are using all your software including operating system of free version, then you might get some problem with some issues. Try and add exception for Digital Video Recorder in your default firewall setting and add exclusion in all available Avast shield. This will create no wall for your Digital Video Recorder to run. And try to upgrade your system from service pack 2 to service pack 3 and if your system’s hardware configuration allow then install widows 7 and then buy a genuine Antivirus and register it. This is hardly of rupees from 500 to 750 for a year subscription.
