Sbs 2008 Installation Issues

Any chance somebody actually EXPLAINING to me or a link for sbs 2008 installation problems I'm, having trouble understanding how from one domain name i send my remote workers to the correct web link,
microsoft states use
"remote.example.com" to direct users to the sbs box using my existing web domain or purchasing a new one can somebody explain how if i was to use my own domain how i then send remote workers to the SBS 2008 box
I realise i can purchase a new domain name however microsoft just states i can use existing domain any detailed help or a link explaining above query REALLY WILL help a lot thank you
