ralink wireless LAN card only getting 1 bar

Before I begin describing my problem, I just wanted to say that the ralink wireless LAN card I use for connectivity purpose. I am using a PC with windows XP. i seem to be only getting 1 bar. Why I am getting this 1 bar on it. Any help would be appreciating for solving this issue.
