VLAN connectivity and designing.

Hi All, I have a problem about vlan setup. I want to know the best way of creating VLANs. I just want to separate each department in same network. i connected each department to the like HR ,Accounting, etc separately I have VLAN 1: account department. VLAN 2: finance department. VLAN3:HR department. Etc. If I separate the network via department I will have multiples vlans. I want each department separately. Thanks.

hi, I think if you have more than 2 departments and you want to connect them separately on the network, then you should put different subnet for different department. And you create the route for them also.

Re: VLAN connectivity and designing.

hey, if you want to separate different department then consider you have internal ip .account. Finance. HR/24 192.168.1.50
Then,
192. - Internal ip (could be 192, whatever you choose)
168. – account (customers etc...)
1. - finance (1 for data, 20 for VoIP, etc...)
50.-HR
/24 - because it seems easier to everyone
then route each department or route all of them.
