having Microsoft security essentials but still getting no virus protection message

I'm using Microsoft security essentials as an anti virus software. Almost a week ago my computer (windows security center) is alerting me that I don't have any anti virus protection and that if I do have one to turn it on. The anti virus is and its running normal and I haven't received anything from the Microsoft to update or upgrade.
I hope I can find help from this site.

You can disable the virus protection message, just go to Start -> Control Panels -> Security Center. Then click on the "Firewall" option, click on "Recommendations", and, finally, check off the option "I have a firewall solution that I'll monitor myself". You can also refer to some suggestions given in similar kind of threads here - Windows Security Center does not detect anti-virus program
