Remove the welcome screen when user log on Domain

I am reconfiguring an network where there is a dead domain. Dead means the domain is not used for more than a month. So anyhow I had kept it aside just in case if current domain does not work, we can use that. There was an feature of welcome screen applied to it. When a user logins a welcome screen appears telling about the company and the user has to click on yes to continue. I want to remove this feature out. Like providing some kind of classic logon to the users. Also there are exchange mailbox configured on it. I need some tips to manage the old mailboxes. I am planing to configure similar on the current domains. But finding each and every settings will be a tougher and time consuming job. Any help is appreciated.

When you configure a user account on Active directory Windows uses it default welcome screen. You can simply change this logon screen what you want. The welcome screen is the place where you can see the accounts list. You can type the name of user account and provide the password to login and the other things are executed. There are many feature of Logon screen. You can control the same as you want. Like you can enable the feature of last logon. You can also improve the security by hiding all the user name. To do this you will need to modify the settings of Local Security Policy. This is located in Administrative Tools. Go under Local Policy > Security and then click on Interactive Logon: Do Not Display Last User Name. Enable it and reboot. Thats done with the changes in the logon screen. For the splash screen you are getting on logon you will need to manage the from gpedit.

It can be done by method of custom logon screen. Just look for that method. The same can be used to stop the current logon messages that users are getting on logon.

I found some similar solution for your problem. Surely this can help you. You will need to modify the settings from Windows registry. There are too values which affect this. They are LegalNoticeCaption and LegalNoticeText. They are located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon. You can manaully remove this by find every user name entry. You will need to modify the settings of DefaultUserName. And then modify the settings of AutoAdminLogon. Thats all reboot and then check back. You can also make changes to the same by using gpedit. You can provide an single user or a group to auto login and avoiding the welcome screen. There are possibilities to run classic login screens.

Manging the Exchange Mailbox is not tougher if you had already worked in this before. There is an Mailbox Manager utility which has many features from creating to migrating and to deleting mailbox.

You can do this by Group Policy settings. You just need to turn on the Message Display. In that you can add any message you want. Just run the gpo and once you are done with the settings you will need to modify the registry of target computers. Logon to the Server and then click on Active Directory > Users > Computers > Snap-in. Then right click on the domain and then click Properties. In that look for Group policy tab. Edit the default domain policy. Now go to Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options. Click on Interactive logon. Type the message you want to display for the users. You will need to provide the title and message in the given boxes.

Here are the steps to configure the logon screens. Click on Start > Run and then type gpedit.msc. This will run Group Policy settings windows. Go in Security Configuration. For fixing the issues of logon screen you have to gon in MMC Snap in. There are possibilities of adding an snap in to any empty console. Go to Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Logon. Just click on Classic logon what you had asked for.
