| Re: How to connect VMC basic type modem with Netgear WGR614v9 Assuming that you are connected with a cable ISP using their cable modem you can try this. Open the Basic Settings page in your router and set the MAC address of the router to use the PC MAC address. After that you can try to power off both modem and router, power on the modem and let it initialise, then power on the router. By following this method the modem can see the router / PC with the same MAC address, which avoids the change of IP address you would normally see if the two MAC addresses are different. |

I too faced the same problem with the modem when using my asus RT13U router, later found out that by changing the default ip address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1 on your new router will solve the problem ,since your vmc1021 modem has the same ip config address .no need to update drivers or any other stuff.... reply if you have any doubts |
