Computer working slow due to the Norton Internet Security 2012 beta

I had installed Norton Internet Security 2012 beta in my system. I have a windows xp pc. After installation my pc is working very slow. I am not able to get the reason. I was using a free edition of avg before. And now I found the beta edition. This will be more better compared to the free antivirus so I installed it. But it is not able to give me proper output. It takes long time to open any file or to surf web page.

Open Task Manager. And see the ram usage. If this is high then go in Process. Check which application is eating too much of your system ram. If it is the antivirus then you have to simply remove it. I think you have a poor hardware due to which you are getting slow system. You have to add a bit more amount of ram to make it faster. I hope you are having a good processor also.

This problem is common with old system. You have windows xp that simply means you are on a old pc. And Norton is bit heavy compared to other antivirus. It requires minimum 1GB of ram to work fine. You have to remove this antivirus and install avg back again. Or you can use MSE also. MSE is free and is quiet light on the system performance.
