Hello friend I have been using this and have been able to update it very easily there were no problem at all but I think you are having the problem because of the windows defender or your firewall just close them and then try to install check if you are able to do that and other thing what I can say is just recall that have you installed anything like Spybot's TeaTimer or a tool called Subinacl from Microsoft and also a script called reset_subinacl.cmd they have been found to interrupt this MES to stop from getting upgraded it you have done that then just remove them and then see if you are helped.

Carry out following step and see if you are helped.
    • First step just disable the windows update.
    • Click to start then programs and then accessories and then click run.
    • And then type the service.msc and then press ok.
    • Now just right click on the windows update and then click stop.
    • Rename software distribution folder by moving to the C:/Windows/ and search for the folder named softwareDistribution.
    • And then rename it as softwareDistribution.old
    • Now you can enable the windows update.
And then restore the system and see if helps you I have found this helpful I don’t know how but it did you too just try this out I think it would help you out to.

I think you need to reinstall the application and then again try to upgrade it and then see if it helps you out. When you are uninstalling it also just remove the registry key and then try to install it again and to remove the registry key you can google it how to remove registry key of any program and you would get the steps follow them and get it done.

You must have tried to download it from somewhere else and then this would be creating a problem for you make sure that you are downloading it from the genuine site and this would be helping you out for sure. And dont go with the rumors of searching for the number of upgrades and all just upgrade your application for the option in the application itself.
