Trouble with router recognition and speed

Hi everyone. New here. 4 hours of research and I'm now hairless. I came home to a network dead computer. Everything else connected wirelessly to my router has no problems. My PC hardwired says unidentified network, public and gives me a red X wont connect or find my router. No Gateway. Here's what I've done and discovered:

    Uninstalled NIC drivers and reinstalled
Ran netsh and windsock resets ad nausea
Reset router and tried all ports
    No antivirus programs running
    Defaulted all firewalls

The ONLY solution I have found is setting the speed to 10mbps full duplex. Then it finds my router and gives me a gateway. Can connect to net. If I set it any faster or put it on auto, it kills the connection and then goes back to unidentified with no connectivity to router. If I hardener to modem, nothing. With 10mbps it's slow as piss. It won't even load the router admin pages. It just sits there and times out. Other web sites barely load. Major wrong. Can someone please wall me through some other ideas before I give up? Tha ks!!

I am not sure about it but please try this. As you are saying that you are done with the all appropriate possibilities I would suggest you to check it with the other router so you can identify where the problem located is. If the other router works well with your network then there may be problem with your network service. So please check it with other router.

Ok update. Bought a new router last night and or same results. ISP came out and tested the line and said it's good. But my upstream is .42. I think I got a dummy because ge didn't catch this. I was at work. Wife was home and didn't know. So I'm omw to buy a new NIC to see of that fixes it. The Ethernet is on the mobo so I'll just be adding a card. Sound ok?

Well, you have already diagnosed most of the problems but let me confirm once again to make sure that it is not set with static IP address, then

    1. Uninstall and reinstall the latest driver from the manufacture.
    2. Change the network cable.
    3. Tried with a different NIC card.
    4. Restart the router.

    Hi everyone. Problem solved.

    Installed new 10/100 NIC
It fired up right away, no problems
    Disabled mobo network adapter, fried
Returned new router, kept old one

    Continued issue:
Upstream is .42 consistently on DSL
Have ATT 6.0mbps downstream (best i can get in my area in the boondocks
    Isn't this low for upstream?

    Thanks
