sad Unidentified network in windows vista

    Hi,

I am using a windows vista machine. The problem is that I am unable to connect to the internet using a 2wire modem. I am able to get a 192.x.x.x ip address from the router. I tried the following steps
    1. Powercycled the modem
    2. Disabled ipv6
    3. Assigned the ip address to the network card
    4. Uninstalled the driver for my network card and rebooted the system
    5. Created another admin user account.

Note: I am able to connect to the internet using my iphone. I got another Win xp machine which is also not able to connect to the internet. Any ideas where I could be missing out something?. Thanks for your time.

Try resetting the TCP/IP stack and after that letting me know the issue. To reset the TCP/IP stack you need to go through the following steps: go to the start and after that click on the search. Now on the search type command prompt and after that click on the ok button. Now make double click on the command prompt and under that type the below command and after that click on the next key:
    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
Now once you done and then reboot the system for best result.

Prior to the problem, were you able to connect to internet with the same modem? Can you confirm whether your modem is compatible with Windows Vista?
    Check Compatiblity first:
