How to Setup office 2003 and office 2010 side by side with pushing task in Altiris CMS ?

My company has decided to install office 2003 and office 2010 side by side upgrading. Since every system has Microsoft office 2003 loaded in it. Mostly we need to run three tasks on each system while upgrading. We need to run following task.
1.A task that can setup Microsoft Installer 3.1.
2.A task that will setup/ admin config.msp file and will replace it with tailored config.msp file so that it puts Microsoft office 2010 in different folder (Different location than Microsoft office 2003).
3.Finally it will run MsiExec.exe.
Can anyone tell me how to setup at least one task in Altiris CMS as im completely new to this product?

Initially, you need to put in your MSP and Windows installer as software packages under ->Software. Select import. Microsoft Windows installer will import over with the accurate command lines. You will need to twist the command line for your MSP to do what you wish it to do. Then, you need to make a new job under direct Jobs and Tasks. Insert a software delivery task for Windows Installer and then an additional one for the MSP. Finally you just put in a command line for your repair. Otherwise you could create the whole thing as a policy.

Setup/admin is used by Microsoft Office to get into the configuration console from where you can create the required configuration which is recorded in an MSP file. For processing, the MSP file just has to be present in the Updates folder. When you run setup. Also, what operating system versions are you on currently using, it depends on that. Unless you are on Windows XP SP3 (which previously has Windows Installer 3.1 V2 as division of the update) you won't be able to organize Office 2010 as XP SP3 is listed as the least prerequisite.

In order to install both Microsoft office 2003 and Microsoft office 2010 side by side together parallel. You have to install Microsoft office 2010 in different folder so that Microsoft office 2003 doesn’t conflict with Microsoft office 2010 files, preventing from getting overwritten. Following Steps will help you to install both Microsoft office 2010 and Microsoft office 2003 side by side.

1 Run Microsoft office 2010 setup .select customize when prompted to choose preferred type of Microsoft office 2010 click on upgrade or custom.
2 Browse the path where you have to install Microsoft office 2010.Do not chooses the same path which you choose for Microsoft office 2003.
3 The installation will complete and will retain the Microsoft office 2003.

Whenever you installed Microsoft office 2010, the default program for office document files can be changed .users who wish to set up Microsoft office 2010 without removing Microsoft office 2003 have to download config.MSP Windows Installer Patch setup customization file which previously been configured to maintain and retail old Office components and applications. Always remember this while installing Microsoft office 2010 and Microsoft 2003 side by side.
