AVG is not scanning my email

I am having a problem with AVG email scanner. It is not at all scanning my mails. What happen here is that, I had updated my antivirus. I had faced some infection issue before. Then I installed AVG. The antivrus looks simple and easy to use. There is not much issue related to its configuration. Now for the same, when I sent mail the mail is gone directly without getting scanned. I need help for that. How to fix the same. Can I use any other email scanner. This is quiet important for my attachments also.

It can be some kind of setup issue with your antivirus. For that I will recommend you to re-install the same. You can also try running system restore. And before all that go in the antivirus settings and check that Email scanner is checked or not. The settings are in the main screen under options. You can tick the list and if still it does not work then better re-install the antivirus back again. That will fix the issue.

Yes a re-installation will fix the issue. It is necessary that you must scan your mails before receiving or sending the same. The infection can spread into your system and there are also chances that if your system is infected that might send to other pcs. The best thing is that you can use any other third party email scanner. Like Scan To Email. This software is made to scan your documents and also your mails. It checks the authentication of your system and then allows documents.

There are many tools that you can use here. You can switch to another antivirus that can help you for the same. There are many better online email scanner that can help you to fix the issue. I am using Norton here. When you send a mail through outlook or netscape then it first scans the mails before sending. And the same happens when you are trying to receive. Scanning is necessary to avoid common infections.

There is an tool called MailScan. It is best sutiable if you are working on a server. The new version of MailScan for SMTP and Exchange Server 2007 provides clear SMTP-proxy that provides protection based on the TLS protocol between the hub transport server and the Edge Transport server. TLS allows client and server authentication and to establish an encrypted connection.

Just go and check the settings for that. The issue surely will be lying in the settings. The mails scanner and other protection settings are by default set to enabled by the antivirus. You can re-install the same to fix it or switch to any other better scanner. I use Comodo which comes with all stuff that you need. It has a good antivirus, firewall and an task viewer which keeps an track on what is right now happening in your system.
