I posted the problem earlier on many sites and no solution ever worked. I erudite to live with this annoyance, but I format my laptop, setup Total Security 2011 and wish it works now. But nothing. My configuration of the relevant programs is as follows:
Microsoft Windows 7
Cisco VPN Client 5.0
BitDefender Total Security 2011
RealVNC enterprise 4.5
- I connect to my home (192.168.1.254) to my desktop using the Cisco VPN Client 5.0.07.0290 and works well. When the Cisco VPN client connects, I get assigned a static IP address: 192.168.25.254. There is a rule in the firewall that only allows office my connection using ports 5900 and 5800 (those used by RealVNC) on my desktop (10.0.0.3).
- The new network (192.168.1.0) is detected by BitDefender and I put the two networks (my internet connection at home and the office network again) that the total confidence.
- Every time I click on the link VNC program said: "Trying to connect to the host ..."
After 30 seconds or more, said: "Could not connect: timeout”- I tried to add rules, resetting rules and add them again, without success.
- Until now, the just way I can make it all work is totally immobilize the BitDefender firewall.
