What is the difference between analog signal and digital signal

I want to know what is the difference between analog signal and digital signal. I think in telephone line there is analog signal and computer there is digital signal. We need a modem to convert the digital signal into analog signal but what is the actual difference between this two signal . explain me the technicality of this two signal and what is the technical things which is differ from each other.

Re: What is the difference between analog signal and digital signal

Analog is different technology and digital signal is different technology. We need modem to connect to internet because we can’t send digital signal over analog signal wire, so we need modem to convert the digital signal into analog signal. Analog signal is in continues way where as digital signal is discrete. Digital signal uses 0’s and 1’s. digital signal carry data in 0’s and 1’s format. The number are represented in binary code where it uses 0’s and 1’s.

Re: What is the difference between analog signal and digital signal

The analog signal and digital signal are differ in their data format which they carry during the transmission. Let’s see the some difference in both. Analog signal are continues and digital signal is discrete, analog signal are continuosly variable and digital signal are based on 1’s an d 0’s, The primary disadvantage of an analog signal is noise and Noise in digital signal is much easier to filter out, Sound waves are a continuous wave and as such are analog in the real world and in digital signal is used in computer which is used in every office, Analog signal required lesser bandwidth capacity and digital signal require greater bandwidth capacity.

Re: What is the difference between analog signal and digital signal

The biggest disadvantage of analog signal is noise. The noise in the digital signal is much easily filter than analog. Anything other than pure ‘high’ or ‘low’ is considered as a noise. In digital signal the data is discrete whereas in analog it is in continues form. Analog signal is continuously variable and fluctuation is occurred in analog signal. Digital signal is much better than analog signal in terms of quality.
