Norton 2010 Automatically upgraded to 2011

I am on dialup. DSL, Cable and satellite do not exist. Some months before I experienced very slow internet. The majority of websites were out-of-the-way. As well noticed my net connection showed strong activity, even with no programs running. NAV and spyware scans were spotless. My ISP recommended I setup a protocol analyzer to show where the secrecy data was imminent from. It showed the action was all from /downloads/CLT/NAV/ 2011/18.1/ESD/NAV-UPGRADE-ESD-NoDefs-18-1-0-36-EN.exe. Somehow, my Norton 2010 determined to rise to 2011 devoid of any prompting. I am happy with NAV 2010's present features. I did not ask to improve to Norton 2011. This surplus upgrade has been killing my internet connection. How can I discontinue the 2011 upgrade?

Actually, I feel the download is much larger than that and afterward it will require an extremely huge update. Look below setting and after that "miscellaneous setting" and observe if you have an alternative to exit called Automatic Download of novel Version. I have it in NAV 2011 but don't memorize if it was in the previous version.

Just tell me one thing that, what version of Windows do you comprise and is it 32 or 64 bit? NAV 2010 and previous versions do not download novel product year versions on their own. They just execute live update to get the most recent updates available for the present year product. The executable which you talk about is associated with an upgrade to a novel product year version. Did you get an email from Norton or Symantec directing you of a novel version being presented? If hence, could you have clicked on a link inside the email? If so, this could clarify it or could you have clicked on Help and Support- Get novel Version from NAV 2010 user interface? It is all the time suggested to upgrade to the most recent product year version presented but NAV does not perform this automatically. Starting in NAV 2011 there is an alternative existing in Settings- Misc. Settings- Automatic Download of fresh Version which defaults to ON and can be locate to OFF but this alternative does not live in NAV 2010. I would advise that you upgrade to NAV 2011 that is free with a present subscription. If you require a dissimilar language, please let me know and I can give an alternate link.

I feel 2010 does certainly automatically download the novel version and after that it gives a popup notice while it is prepared to install. I am certain this has been conversed earlier than and it is the reason why the alternative was added. Possibly you can download the complete NAV 2011 installer onto a flash drive anywhere which has broadband and after that take the very big updates a bit at a time.

I think the OP talks about that he physically download NAV 2011 and inquire if he could then setup afterward. You might be correct regarding it downloading automatically and asking for setup permission. This does unclearly ring a bell so I will explore the forum slightly later and observe what I can get. I would recommend that Duke_McDial download physically during the night and after that install while it is suitable to do so. This should place an end to it one way or the other.
