How can I use Netgear WNR3700 with DG834 setup ?

I'm attempting to build my Netgear DG834v4 as "modem-only" because I prefer parting all other operations to the Netgear WNR3700. I go after the instructions from the VPN case study channel offered in the sticky but I yet have a difficulty. After choosing the alternative for the Netgear DG834 to operate as a modem only, no sooner I hit the "Apply" button then the Internet light on the face of the modem swaps from green to off, by no means to go back back on. Additionally, the modem's IP address has turn out to be unavailable. I am able to accomplish the internet from my computer but I don't believe that trailing connectivity and the capacity to deal with the modem has been reported in the preceding similar posts so i supposed i should be doing a bit wrong. Can anybody assist through this problem? Then reply me at this post.

Plugged-in a DSL filter inside phone jack joins the router to the filter through a phone cable. Run the wire as of the "DSL" socket on the sort to the white "Internet" port on your adapter. Attach the 12V DC power adapter to the power socket located on the backside of the router--right after that to the aerial. Plug the transformer last part of the adapter into a power passage. Ensure for a firm "Internet" light on the form of your NetGear DG834G. Launch your Internet browser above on your mainframe CPU. Type the address: "192.168.1.1" as appropriate to your address into the internet browser's address block and then press the "Enter" key. Select the first alternative on the menu that arise to let the DG834G's interior software auto-arrangement itself. Select the next option for a additional customizable setup.

When select as modem form it will not begin the internet connection and merely 3700 should connect such as PPPOE dialup. So you have to setup 3700 consecutively to expand internet entrance. Once 3700 connects, you may see lead may move toward on DGXX as internet connection is recognized. Modem form simply acts dummy modem, you will not able to login any longer. So I suggest you to check the modem properly which one will act as main modem to support the internet connection.
