    Win7 RDP and mstsc

    Hi all

I have a strange problem here that I cannot get.....

I have WinXP Pro and wifey has new Win7 laptop. She does a lot of work from home and needs to log into the network. She goes to a web site and after the network checks her computer she clicks a link that sets up a tunnel. Both computers do this.

After the tunnel is established the system launches mstsc. The XP system works great. Her new W7 gives an error stating the file system32/<lang>/mstsc.exe.MUI cannot be found.

This is actually an improvement over mstsc not even launching at all on her system which was happening before.

So has anyone seen this problem before? Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks for reading!

I would suggest you some steps to follow. All you need to do is to first run the system under safe mode. Now as the system is been under safe mode get the desired files that is a. mstscax.dll and mstsc.exe from Windows XP. Make sure that the installation and copying of files is been done in safe mode. As this is been done you may then be able to work with the thing properly.

Well -- I had to bite the bullet and install a VM on the system..... It works but I am still going to be trying to find a way to connect without the VM.

I will post here if I find a way.
