In local area connection from Control panel option you need to open it up and then click on change adapter settings. As it is been done then click on network connection that you want to have a Local Area Connection Status shortcut for, then click on Create Shortcut. Click on Yes for the shortcut to be placed on the desktop. I hope this will be better and helpful for you. This will surely let you to get work.
