This is the first Windows Vista security. Essential. Windows Vista is an operating system. Ie a program whose task is to allow the use of the computer. he scope of this task is so great that Windows is composed of millions of lines of code.Among these lines of code, contain some "security holes", ie entries that can be used by hackers to hack into the computer or cause a malfunction. The work of the designers of Windows is to fill, as and when they are discovered security vulnerabilities.Regularly, normally every second Tuesday of the month or more of the "updates" are available. It is necessary to install them (this is done almost automatically) because their function is to improve the protection and operation of the computer.

Re: Why does mse create a restore point on every definition update

The System Restore is a Windows software that creates restore points, namely an "image" of the system files and settings from your computer at a specific time. The utility automatically creates restore points, but you can also create it manually if you wish. When the System Restore utility is used, it replaces the files and settings currently used by those of an earlier date. For example, the first start of a new computer to a restore point is created. Two days later, several system files are accidentally deleted, which causes Internet Explorer to function. Utility System Restore lets you revert to Windows configuration of the first day and so solve the problem.

Windows Vista automatically creates restore points at regularly scheduled intervals and before many software installations. If you still want to create a restore point manually, follow these steps:

    1. For safety, back up all important files before you create a restore point.
    2. Click Start Click on My Computer with the right mouse button and select Properties .
    3. In the task pane on the left, click System Protection .
    4. Select a disk in the list, usually (C: ), then click Create.
    5. Enter a name that describes the restore point.
    6. click Create .
    7. When you are finished, Windows opens a window indicating that the creation of the restore point was successful.

Follow these steps if Windows refuses to open:
    1. Turn off the computer and wait at least 5 seconds, leaving the computer completely off.
    2. Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the key F8 to boot the computer. The screen "Advanced Boot Options" opens.
    3. Select Repair your computer and press Enter .
    4. Select a keyboard layout for your country / region, then click Next .
    5. When the invitation to connect appears, select the name of the user who has administrator rights (without being the administrator) from the dropdown Username . The name of the user with administrator rights is probably the first user name that was entered during the initial setup of the computer.
    6. Enter the password in the appropriate field and click OK .
NOTE: If you do not have a password, leave the field blank password, then click OK . If you are unable to get past the password window, ask for the password to the administrator or perform a system recovery HP. The Options window opens System Restore.
    7. Click System Restore .
    8. Normally use the System Restore function to restore the computer to a previous restore point .

Some software for malicious programs are equipped with integrated protection prevents other software, including System Restore in Windows, to change their structure. If System Restore fails to use the software files for analysis, the procedure fails and an error message similar to the following: " Restoration incomplete. Your computer could not be restored ... " To restore your system, temporarily disable virus scanning and integrated pest management. For example, many desktops HP and Compaq are included with Symantec Norton.
