    Why not OSI instead of TCP/IP

    hi
    please quickly tel me why TCP/ip is use not osi??????

    Basically TCP/IP consist of 5 layers they are mentioned as below:

    • Physical Layer
    • Data Link Layer
    • Network Layer
    • Transport Layer
    • Application Layer


    While than that of OSI consist of

    • Physical Layer
    • Data Link Layer
    • Network Layer
    • Transport Layer
    • Session Layer
    • Presentation Layer
    • Application Layer


    Now from the above information in TCP/IP layer two of the layers are eliminated and is been standardized well. Also TCP/IP is practically implemented and OSI is theoretical. So this is the reason we use TCP/IP.
