    Wireless N 5 Ghz vs 2.4 Ghz

    Hi,
I have purchased a dual-band simultaneous Wireless N router for using the internet. Now i am thinking to buy a good wireless connection for my house. I want the speed of my wireless connection to be 2.4 Ghz. But i am having a query in my mind, between the N 5 Ghz vs 2.4 Ghz connection. Will any one advice me that which one to use for a good wireless performance?

I think that the main difference between the N 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz is with their range. The power consumed by the 2.4 Ghz is very less as compared to the 5 Ghz and the 5 Ghz require more power consumption to go greater distance. I will advice you to not to go with the 5ghz, because the extra expense which you will make on it is not worth the effort. I will advice you to go for the 2.4 Ghz.

I think i have the answer for this. If we make the comparison related with the spectrum then the 5 GHz band has much greater spectrum available than the 2.4 Ghz, due to this the performance of the 5 Ghz is better than the 2.4 Ghz. I will say that if we want to achieve the better performance that the 5 Ghz is the better choice to make. I hope that you have got the required answer.

If we compare the about the Geographical location then the wireless LAN. 2.4 GHz spectrum is accepted by the most of the countries in the world and if we talk about the 5 GHz for wireless LAN, then it is having the limited acceptance. So i will advice you to use the 2.4 Ghz wireless spectrum. Hope that i have provided you some kind of help.

Re: Wireless N 5 Ghz vs 2.4 Ghz

If i have to make the comparison between the 2.4 Ghz and the 5 Ghz, then i think that 2.4 GHz wireless LANs will be able to experience RF interference from cordless phones, microwaves, etc. The performance of the wireless network goes on decreasing with the interfering signals. If we compare the noise floor, then the 5 GHz band is having a low noise floor as compared to the 2.4 Ghz.
