Here are some tips to save successfully an image file to CD / DVD R / RW

    * Before starting , check the HCL Ghost to determine whether Ghost supports your CD / DVD R / RW. See the documents Compatibility Ghost 2001 , 6.5, and 7.0 with CD -R and CD - RW, Compatibility of Ghost 2002 and 7.5 with CD -R and CD - RW, and compatibility Ghost 2003 with CD -R , CD - RW and DVD.
    * If you start the computer with a floppy disk , use a floppy disk with files Ghost without the driver files from the CD / DVD R / RW. If you include the driver files from CD / DVD R / RW on drive , do not load from CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT .

If you start the computer with a floppy disk , use a floppy disk that includes only the system files DOS and files of Ghost. Do not load the drivers for peripherals such as scanners, printers etc. . See the documents How to create a DOS system disk for Ghost and Which diskettes bootable used for writing on CD-R/RW drives. Do not switch to distribute the file on the command line of Ghost. Ghost distribute automatically the file to several CD / DVD R / RW, if necessary. Most devices on the SCSI require an ASPI driver that is specific to that device or that brand of device. If you use a CD / DVD R / RW SCSI , see the documentation for the drive and make sure that the file Config.sys loads the driver from the floppy. For more information on access to CD / DVD R / RW type SCSI , see the document How to determine the accessibility of Ghost in the CD-R/RW drive.

Be careful when restoring the image, GHOST, will recreate bitwise hard drive , which means that you will find the same data when you create the image. So do not hesitate to make a backup of data or computer. Norton find the hard drive partitions :
    * Partition1: This is the operating system.
    * Partition2: This is the Ghost image .
Immediately after choosing the partition that will receive the image , GHOST warns you that the image will be restore on parttion1Of HDD 1. Just accept to restore the image.

you 'll need to define a first save point. External hard drives such as USB sticks are the best places to store recovery points. This configuration offers a simple protection for each partition on your hard drive. It important feature key of Norton Ghost 10.0, you can restore all your files and settings using the restore points created earlier with Back -Up Now. All you have to do is hit the button View all recovery points on the window Recover My Computer and select from the list below the recovery point desire .
