Is the Norton IPS 1.0 addon supposed to be listed as compatible with Firefox 3.5.2 as of 16.7.2.10?

I have seen somewhere on the 16.7.2.10 patch notes for the Mozilla Firefox that an Norton IPS add on wont be having updates. And an updated add on for the latest version of the Norton would be released later on. This notes says that the Norton IPS 1.0 addon is not compatible with Firefox 3.5 but it is compatible with the 3.5.2 version. What informations you guys have is there anybody who have faced the problem regarding this changes.

I have seen the problem with my firefox as it was not getting rid of that Norton IPS add on, I do not know that from where it was coming but then i realized that it was not in my hand. I have tried scanning my computer with the antivirus software but it did not found anything wrong due to which this add ons might got affected.

I think we guys have to wait for some time so that Norton fixes this bud with its latest version. Actually this could be the problem for many users which has been not thought by the Norton. They have let go this add on but it has became headache for many users. Even norton is knowing this that there is no update for an IPS but who cares. I am using Internet Explorer till Norton provides proper updates.

Norton toolbar & Norton IPS are exterior tools which does not have any authorization from Mozilla, so Mozilla is not answerable at all for depressing bad effects of equivalent use. If you are not happy with these bad effects then you have to completely get rid of Norton or completely eliminate Mozilla or upgrade Norton to 360 V4.0, which absolutely is a resolution for the bad effects mentioned here.

    1. Turn off the Norton extensions by going to the Tools then Add-ons -> Extensions).
    2. Terminate Firefox.
    3. Use Windows Explorer (or your preferred alternative) to navigate to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions (adjust if you’ve installed Firefox somewhere else).
    4. Here you will find two files named as which you have to delete.{7BA52691-1876-45ce-9EE6-54BCB3B04BBC} and {8545daff-ad1e-493f-a37e-eed1ac79682b}.
    5. Restart Mozilla Firefox and Norton’s nuisances must be gone.
