    Proper Network cable installation

I am very new in this networking and technological world. Having a brand new HP laptop. I am thinking for Internet connection into my laptop via cable. But having no idea, how to connect also not having the information's about the different types of cables those are available now in the market. Also others like what is the distance it covers? specification of the cable and how many types of cable are there? etc.

So any one can provide me information regarding the cable and connection...

I recommend you for commercial made patch cables. It is attached to keystones which is attached with an solid core cable. the installation is look like:
[Device][Purchased stranded patch cable][110 Keystone][wall brackets][solid network cable][patch panel][Patch cable][Network switch]. The devices would be terminated in 568B wiring standard. Except the patch, all the items should be the same category. If you run cat6E, then the all wall cable and the patch panel should all be CAT6E. And if you are only looking for 100Mbps, CAT5 will be considered.

The category specification depends on the frequency that a cable can handle at a certain length also the type and the size. Others like longer, distance, smaller the cable, the type of the cable these all are vary in the end results, but the specification were designed for standard where it will works. As for example, CAT5 cable contains twisted pairs in a single cable jacket, used for balanced lines which preserve a high signal-to-noise ratio despite interference between external sources and other pairs. It is mpstly used for 100Mbit per sec networks(such as 100BASE-TX ). "CAT5 having three twists per inch of each twisted pair of 24 gauge (AWG) copper wires within the cables".

The distances of the cables are depends on their core portion. The specified speed for CAT5 is 100m,which is maximum. CAT5 allows 10m extension of the slandered cable in the both ends. CAT6 cable is works good in 100Mbps but fails when it moves to the higher range such as 1000Mbps.

The other categories in cable are like Cat 1, Cat 3, Cat5, Cat 5e, Cat6, Cat6e etc.
CAT1 is generally used for flat phone cord. It is untwisted pair and quad color cable (Red, green, yellow, black).
CAT3 is used for 10BaseT and some 100BaseT. CAT5 is generally used for 100BaseT. But the good quality of CAT5 is used to to support for Gigabit Ethernet. Also CAT5e is recommend for tighter specifications.
CAT5e and CAT6 are able to do 1000BaseT. Though there are other cable like CAT6a and CAT6e as well as CAT7, but these are basically for home use.
