Usb Ports Not Working From Google Hijack Virus

I have recently scanned my whole computer and removed a bunch of viruses. I contracted the virus from google browser hijack virus. Soon my USB port stopped working. Whenever I connect my ipod or any other usb device then it shows the message that this device is malfunctioning. When I saw the device manager the device was showing as unknown device. I uninstalled all the usb devices and reinstalled them on setup it is again showing unknown device. I can’t decide that if it a driver problem or the hardware problem. Please provide me any idea.

To scan the hardware changes, you can use the Device manager. Your computer may connect to USB port after it scans the hardware changes.

To scan the hardware changes you can follow the following steps:

    1. Go to start and click Run.
For windows vista go to start and then use Start Search box.
    2. Now type devmgmt.msc and click Ok. It will open Device Manager.
    3. Click on action and then click on Scan for hardware changes.
    4. Check the USB device whether it is working or not.

If you have already scanned for the hardware changes and it does not fix your problem then just restart your computer and after your computer has restarted you can check if your USB device is working properly or not. If restarting your computer fixes your problem then its OK but then also you are getting the same problem then disable and re-enable your USB driver.

You can disable and re-enable your USB drive to fix this problem. Here are the steps to do this.

    1. Click on start and hit the run button.
    2. Type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK. It will let you to Device Manager.
    3. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controller.
    4. Right click on first USB controller under USB controller and click on uninstall.
    5. Repeat step 4 for all the ports.
    6. Now restart the computer. When you restart it will automatically scan for hardware changes and reinstall all the USB controllers that you have uninstalled.
    7. Now check your USB device to see whether it is working or not.

I am quite sure that it will fix your problem.

This problem may be just because of timing issue and it is creating a problem for computer to detect the USB device. If after doing all the above solution also you problem is not getting fixed then I will suggest you to contact the support.
I am sure that you will get the solution for your problem there.

I think your computer System is infected with virus. And your Antivirus is unable to detect or delete it. I will suggest you to format your c: Drive completely and reinstall the operating system. Have you tried this? If yes and then also you are getting the same problem then reformat your computer with some other CD.
