Local Area Connection Icon in Network Connections missing

I newly upgraded a Windows 2000 PC with a Gigabyte GA-8PE800L motherboard to Windows XP Pro. We have a Raid array (FastTrak TX2) and are making the use of an onboard network adapter (Marvell 1207F). The internet and network connection work excellent, on the other hand there is no icon for local area connection in Network Connections, and there is also no 1394 connection. The Device manager displays that the device is working properly, and the driver is an up-to-date version. I have endeavored the fixes listed on Microsoft's site about this quandary to no benefit. The user needs to be able to manage its own network connection and is unable or reluctantly to use the Netsh command line interface. I am expecting some help from your side.

First you will have to make sure that the cable or DSL modem is installed correctly, that the Internet service is not off the air and that all required settings are defined before using this document. Contact your Internet Service Provider for help about the required settings. After doing this troubleshooting you can carry forward to resolve the things but the mentioned things are more basic and you should check it first.

If you open a message of "dial-up connection, or you receive the error message" Web page unavailable while offline ", has created a default dial-up connection. Delete the dial-up connection or configure your browser to use this type of connection. In Internet Explorer, perform the following steps :
    1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools, then Internet Options.
    2. In the Options dialog box, click the Connections tab.
    3. Select Do not dial a connection ever.
    4. Click the Advanced tab and uncheck Enable with elements that work offline are synchronized according to a schedule
    5. Click OK and try to view Web pages again.

Many users are having this problem. You can go to start-show all connections right clip on connecting local-state-area properties off the notification icon to connect and accept. After doing this I think that you should able to view the local area connection icon in Network Connections. With some firwall, and the configuration of it, the icon for connecting to net a network disappears from the task bar ....( my case with a router). So also try to disable your firewall or any antivirus that is being enabled and then restart your system.

There are chances that the following steps will help you :
    1. Open your network connections
    2. Right-click your wireless connection to select "properties"
    3. In the general tab select "Internet Protocol TCP / IP" it should be highlighted that appears below has a check box: "Show icon in notification area when the connection established"
    4. Check! Apply! and lastly click on OK.

I am sure that this will bring your icon back.

Re: Local Area Connection Icon in Network Connections missing

Missing icons for network connection (LAN) or dial-up connection as well as under "Network Tasks" to the link "Create a new connection", although the links work, it may be several reasons for this.
Plug and Play is disabled (for the display of "Local Area Connection"). In the Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Services and Applications - Services - Plug & Play - has the startup type to "Automatic" position. restart after changing the system.
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is disabled for the display of "Create a new connection ("). Procedure as for the service "Plug and Play". Startup type to "Automatic" position and start again. If the icon "Create New Connection" still does not appear to be always, press the [F5] key on your keyboard to refresh the view. The option "Allow service to interact with desktop Network Connections service is disabled.
Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Services and Applications - "service" - Network Connections - Properties - tab "Register" - "sign as" Allow service to interact with desktop in turn.
