Connecting Two Laptops Via WIFI (Vista Home Premium & Windows 7)

I have two laptops in my home with one running Windows Vista Home Premium and another with Windows 7. I would like to connect these two laptops to internet via wifi. I don't have much knowledge about networking and so need guidance in the same. Could anyone please tell me how to connect two laptops via wifi?

What you want to do is set up a wireless "ad hoc" network and set both laptop in the same radio channel. This will
enable the computers to see each other and have a basic connectivity. Then you need to set your networking parameters and file sharing permissions in each computer so that they have access and permissions to each others resources.

    1. Open Connect to a Network by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Connect to.
    2. Click Set up a connection or network.
    3. Click Set up an ad hoc (computer-to-computer) network, click Next, and then follow the steps in the wizard.

The most recommended method to setup a Wireless network is getting a wireless router and configuring relevant settings through router’s web page. Here is a small Microsoft article describing the details of how to setup a wireless network. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...reless-network

Instead of purchasing a new router, and since it is very small setup with just two laptop; I don't think there is any necessity of a router. You can even purchase an access point and connect both the laptops to this access point. You must configure your access point.
