Avast Freezes My Computer for Hours on Startup

I am having a computer which is installed with the Windows 7 operating system on the same. For security purpose I have installed Avast antivirus software program. But this software application is creating problem in my operating system. The system just freeze on startup. I am not able to do anything. It is very hard to work on the same. I tried a lot to fix it. Even on restart this thing just slow down everything.

Here you have to start with removing Avast antivirus. And then you can go ahead with re-installation of the same. There are chances that the program is bit buggy due to which it is crashing or causing the entire system to work slow. To fix it you can boot your pc in safe mode. And then scan your system. In safe mode minimum programs are working and you wont get this freezing problem. Just try that. If still Avast give you the same issue change your antivirus.

I installed Avast! 4 Home and each time I try to open it, I get "an unknown error", "Application can’t load skin. UsiGetSkin Function Failed". How to fix this?

1. Start menu "Run"
2. Enter the following command:
* If you have Windows NT or 2000:
C: \ WINNT \ system32 \ REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4. OCX
* If you have Windows 95, 98 or ME:
C: \ WINDOWS \ SYSTEM \ REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4. OCX
* If you have Windows XP:
C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ REGSVR32.EXE ACTSKIN4. OCX
3. click ok.
4. A message saying that the file was successfully registered should appear.
