One could spend hours manually removing the software advertising their computer, but even then you are not guaranteed results. These things are designed to be impossible to remove, and even if you managed to get rid of him yet, not only is it likely to come back but you're still open to new infections that are equally abhorrent.

Cheap programs will not actively protect your computer, they just try to solve problems as they arise. Instead, well-designed anti-software advertising will do so you'll never be bothered by pop up ads ever. Scheduled scans are also important because some programs are properly installed come with annoying ads. When you install applications, they leave bits of code that can begin to spit out ads when they want. Regular scans will select and delete these things too, ensuring a popup-free computer and Web browsing experience.
