    utorrent network traffic

    Hello,
I use utorrent to download from the internet, the problem is that when I start the download from utorrent all the network traffic is dedicated to utorrent and can not browser to the internet, that the browsing becomes too slow. Why is this happening? Any more information on this will help me. Thank you.

BitTorrent uses TCP ports range 6881 - 6999, no UDP port. BitTorrent Clients oldest seek a range of several ports, most modern not use more than one. In the case of former, the latter defined sweep range starting with the lowest port and then pass sequentially to higher, until a connection is established. For example, in a range 6953 ~ 6961, port 6953 will be applied first, then follow the ports 6954, 6955 and so on.

    With a core of single-port

    - you can run as many streams as you want.
    - you have only one port to open in your firewall.
    - you just have to redirect a single port on your router.

Previously, when you want to run 10 streams simultaneously reserving one port per torrent, you need to redirect a minimum of 10 ports. By defining a single port for all torrents, you can now launch more than 100 streams simultaneously and simply redirect a single port.

The ability to redefine the ports used by BitTorrent is an important feature for many users. However, some ports are not accessible by Internet and makes use affects the overall performance of the flow downstream and upstream as BitTorrent. It is also possible that your ISP rate limits the ports 6881 ~ 6889 (busy), the most daring will even block them. For these reasons, it is recommended not to use their preferred port to neutralize the aggressive ISP frustrated. Choose them at random (eg 50505 ~ 50513, etc..) And the habit of regularly changing them randomly, in order to avoid the absurd dedication of certain officers seeking advancement.

    Router and firewall

If you use a firewall, you may have to set it up so your BitTorrent client gets full access to the Internet and is allowed to run as server . For these changes to take effect, restart your BitTorrent client after changing the firewall settings. If you use a router, it will allow the diversion of ports defined.

    Re: utorrent network traffic

BitTorrent works fine in a NAT because it can only use outbound connections. Such an environment generally covers all situations where multiple computers share the same address Public IP and visible ex. computers network Home sharing a cable or ADSL . The best rates are obtained when incoming connections are allowed through the function of forwarding ports on the device used as a gateway / NAT. For example, if you have an ADSL or cable connection and a router / switch / gateway / firewall, you must configure the device to redirect ports 6881 ~ 6889 to the local computer running BitTorrent . If the device makes it difficult to define a range of ports (for example, requires you to define each one individually), then you just have to stick to the first 10 or the number of clients you plan to run simultaneously on your network Local. If more than one person behind such a gateway wishes to use BitTorrent, then each target machine will use a range of different ports and the gateway must be configured so as to divide each range of ports to local computers using BitTorrent.
